EMOBILE officially adopts mobile IP phones
as Japan's first mobile phone operator.
U.S. JAJAH develops "inexpensive and convenient"
voice communication services for EMEONE ƒ¿
EMOBILE Ltd. (Headquarters: Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, Chairman & CEO: Sachio Semmoto; hereinafter "EMOBILE"), adopts mobile IP phones on "EMEONEƒ¿" as the first mobile phone operator in Japan. This became possible with the partnership of JAJAH (Headquarters: Mountain View, California, U.S.A.), which delivers inexpensive IP phones from the U.S. to the global markets.
"EM Mobile Broadband" is a high-speed mobile data service, which adopts 3.5G HSDPA technology with a maximum downlink speed of 3.6Mbps and a maximum uplink speed of 384kbps. By installing JAJAH's IP phone service "JAJAH Phone" which is specially developed for "EMEONE ƒ¿", EMOBILE offers an unprecedented level of real-time communication and inexpensive services to landlines and mobile phones.
Rates are set at 2.4 yen per minute to domestic landlines, 15.99 yen per minute to domestic mobile phones, and 2.14 yen per minute to landlines in the U.S (all rates include taxes) There rates are revolutionary compared to the existing mobile phone operators' rates.
